Mildred C. (Brown) Tilton age 103 of Salem, NH, died Thursday evening at the IHS Nursing Home in Derry, NH.
She was born in Leominster, Massachusetts, where she grew up and attended schools and graduated from Leominster High School in 1919. Mrs. Tilton was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 65 years, formerly of Methuen, MA.
Mrs. Tilton was a retired homemaker. She was a life Member of the Salem Garden Club, where she introduced “Yard of the Month” in 1957, and she was also a member of the Salem Women’s Club. She enjoyed rug hooking, ceramics, crafts, and flowers.
She was the widow of the late Ralph E. Tilton SR, who passed away in 1976.
She is survived by 4 Sons: Ralph & his wife Gertrude Tilton of Peterboro, NH
Douglas & his wife Mary Tilton of Salem, NH
David & his wife Trudy Tilton of Salem, NH
Clifford & his wife Belle Tilton of Salem, NH
2 Sisters: Lois Dickinson of Leominster, MA
Marjorie Fischer of Leominster, MA
15 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews
Family and friends may visit from 10-11AM Thursday, May 29, 2003 followed by a Memorial Service at 11 AM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
