Salem, NH.-Roger J. Becotte, 74, a long time resident of Salem, NH died on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Lawrence General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born and grew up in Lawrence. Roger was employed by Lucent Technologies for 32 years before his retirement in 1997.
Roger was an avid member of the VFW, Post 8349 Club of Methuen, and the Rocky Club of Lawrence. He loved playing pool, bowling, and 45 Tournaments. His favorite past time was watching the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. Roger was a member of St. Monica's Church in Methuen. Roger was loved by everyone that came into his life. He was a fun loving person who enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and friends. He treated everyone the same and our lives won't be the same without him. He will be missed by all and "Forgotten by none".
Roger is survived by his wife of 36 years: Mary Lou (Riviezzo) Becotte. He was predeceased by his son Roger "Buster" Becotte, Jr. He is also survived by a granddaughter: Kristen (Becotte) Colon and her husband Jason, 2 great granddaughters: Jasmine and Kaila Colon. Roger was loving stepfather to Mrs. Kenneth (Betty Ann) Fantauzzi, Colleen Fowler, Charles "Tim" Fowler, and Michael Fowler and his wife Lisa. He is also survived by 7 step grandchildren, 1 step great-grandson, and 3 brothers: Roland Becotte of Lawrence, and Ronald and Paul Becotte both of Salem, NH. Roger was predeceased by his 3 sisters: Edwina, Lillian, and Jeanne.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Monica's Church in Methuen, MA. Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
