Robert “Bob” S. Holm, age 86, of Londonderry, NH, died on January 20, 2009 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Born in Derry on February 8, 1922, he was a son of the late Alfred and Barbara (Theiss) Holm. Mr. Holm was a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy serving during WW II, commissioned aboard the USS Lexington. While in the Navy he played badminton. After his career with the Navy, he retired from the US Postal Service after 30 plus years of service, having received the Million Mile Award. Mr. Holm was a former chief umpire for the Londonderry Little League.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Gladys (Eaton) Holm of Londonderry, two sons, Brandon C. Holm of Manchester, NH, Blaine R. Holm and his wife Dana of Goffstown, NH and one brother, Russell Holm of Derry. Surviving also include several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Monday, January 26, 2009 from 12:00 –2:00 pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, with a funeral service with military funeral home. Burial will be held in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry in the spring.
