Obituary

Paul Julius Guhl, Noank was born in NYC to John C. and Euphrosina (Lazar) Guhl on November 28, 1923 and was raised in Stamford, CT.

He served in the Army 75th Infantry during WWII and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Paul graduated from Penn State University in 1949 with an industrial engineering degree.
He married Elizabeth (Sheesley) and recently celebrated their 61 years of marriage and family joy.

After a long and successful career Paul retired from Davis-Standard Corp as a systems engineer and international sales manager.

Paul enjoyed many varied activities including singing, travel, and friends and family.
As an advocate he assisted many in the community and was a mentor to youth.
Raising the family Cuyahoga Falls, OH for 17 years, and after moving to CT, Paul continued to be involved with the community as an active member of the
Noank Baptist Church, Mystic Area Ecumenical Council, Group Homes and the Mystic River Congregate. He will be missed as co-counselor of Camp SeaGuhl.

Paul is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children Barbara (Joe) Marken, Peter Guhl, Jennifer (Bill) Johnson, Tom (Peg Collins) Guhl, grandchildren: Joshua & Abigail Johnson, Whitney & Philip Marken, Kristen & Matthew Guhl, and Jared, Aaron & Megan Guhl. Great grandchildren: Brendan, Riley, Emily & Alexander Paul Guhl.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Sunday from 2-4pm.A Memorial service will be conducted at Noank Baptist Church on Monday at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Noank Baptist Church, 13 Cathedral Heights, Noank, CT 06340.
