Mattapoisett, MA. - Lillian Sylvia, age 74 years, died Monday, January 22, 2009 from a battle with cancer at the home of her daughter. She was the wife of the late Francis D. “Frank” Sylvia. Survivors include her children Lawrence Sylvia of Marion, Gary Sylvia of Wareham, Lora-Lee Sylvia of Mattapoisett, and David W. Sylvia of Florida., 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, a sister Shirley Pinto and her husband Donald of Dartmouth, a brother Antone Correia of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joan Medeiros.
Mrs. Sylvia was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Wilhelmina (England) and Alfred Arruda. She was the Co-Owner of Family Fisheries.
Mrs. Sylvia’s services will be Monday, at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours will be prior to the Service from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M., Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will take place at Cushing Cemetery in Mattapoisett.
