Civetta, Robert Allan
(Sept. 30, 1927-January 23, 2009)
Of Franklin, passed away January 23, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bob attended MIT and Northeastern University for Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, as well as Meteorology. He proudly served our country during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a Navigator and, later, setting up weather stations all over the world. For over fifty years he dedicated his life to Boston Gas, now National Grid, where he was still employed at the time of his death. Beloved husband of Ann (Frye) Civetta (deceased). Born and raised in the city of Boston, he moved to Wayland with his wife Ann in 1958 where they raised their last two children. They later moved to Franklin in 1981. He enjoyed his many friends and was close to his family. Bob was known for his friendly and generous nature, his scally caps and always arriving early. Beloved father, he leaves his daughters: Ann Marie and husband, Scott Oliver; Susan and husband, Robert Perreira; Catherine and husband, Michael Yancheff; and Roberta and husband, Timothy Taylor; and daughter-in-law, Stella Legere. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren: Ryan, Robert, William, James and Lauren Oliver; Jennifer McKeon and Julie Ann Perreira; Yvonne and Joseph Legere; Lisa and Nick Yancheff; and Dylan and Teagan Taylor, and two great-grandchildren, Michaela and Christian Perreira.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January, 25, from 2-6 pm at Robert J. Lawler & Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre Street, West Roxbury.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held at The Holy Name Church, West Roxbury at 10:30 AM on Monday January 26, 2009.
Burial will be at Mt. Benedict Cemetery.
