Albert F. Riley, Jr., 91, of Rochester died January 21, 2009 unexpectedly at home.
He was the husband of Maureen D. (Kilner) Riley.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Albert F. and Lucy F. (Hickey) Riley, he lived in Rochester most of his life.
Mr. Riley was a parishioner of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
He was formerly employed as a cigar salesman with Garcia & Vega for many years retiring at the age of 80.
Mr. Riley served in the U.S. Army during World War II participating in the battles of Guadalcanal and East Indies. He was the recipient of the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 service stars. He was a member of Andrews-Dahill Post 1531 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed riding horses.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Kevin Riley and Gary Riley, both of Rochester; Albert Riley, III and his wife Patricia of Plymouth and Neil Riley and his wife Dianne of Marshfield, VT; a daughter, Katherine Riley-Keough and her husband John of Rochester; a granddaughter, Emma Keough of Rochester; several nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday, January 26th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, January 25th from 2-5 PM.
