Leonor M. (Xavier) Correia, 75, of New Bedford died Tuesday January 20, 2009 at home. She was the wife of the late Teodoro Correia.
Born in Salga, St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Manuel and Rosa (Botelho) Xavier, she lived in New Bedford since 1969.
Mrs. Correia was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
She loved being with her family and hosting family events.
Survivors include three children, Martin Correia and his wife Maria, and Helena Viveiros and her husband Jose, all of Dartmouth, and Ilda Livorsi and her husband Carl of Lakeville; a brother, Adelino Xavier of Fall River; a sister, Eduina Medeiros of New Bedford; seven grandchildren, Paula, Matthew, Amy, Stacey, Jessica, Amanda and Martin Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Courtney, Seth, Emma, Aiden, Ava, and Zachary; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Ilda Xavier, Martinho Xavier, Isaura Pereira, and Maria Pereira.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com
