BELMONT

Jeannette V. Clairmont, 95, formerly of Johnson St. died May 19, 2003 in the Mountain Ridge Healthcare Center in Franklin. She was born in St. Johnsbury Vt. On January 2, 1908, the daughter of Noah and Amanda (Duval) Vachon. She moved to Belmont in 1923 and lived on Johnson St. for almost 80 years.

Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at the Belmont Hosiery Mill and later as a seamstress at the The Dress Shop in Franklin. She was the widow of Eugene E. Clairmont who died in September 1973.

Mrs. Clairmont was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. Always an active person, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, solving crossword puzzles and working in her flower garden.

Family members include a daughter, Barbara Parker of Franklin; two grandchildren, Suzette Stanton of Franklin and Jeffrey Parker of Concord; and four great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Albert Vachon.

Calling hours will be in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Parish, Church St. Belmont on Thursday at 10 AM. Burial followed in St. John Cemetery, Tilton. Timothy C. Molan and David L. Furber were the funeral directors.
