Emily Champignie 63, of Whitman, died Sunday January 18th in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Ethel (Butler) Champignie. Born in Quincy and raised in Whitman where she has resided all her life. She was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Class of 1963. Emily worked in the marketing department of Bradlees for 30 years and then for the Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical and OceanSpray Company for the past 15 years. She enjoyed going to all her nieces and nephews sporting events and dance recitals, she was a very avid Red Sox Fan and loved to read. Emily loved being around her family and friends.
She is survived by her siblings Beverly Occhipinti of Brockton, Edward Champignie of Kingston, Andrew Champignie of Whitman, her longtime friend of many years Jeanne LeVangie Fenton and her family; also many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews. She was also the sister of the late Louis Champignie
Her services will be held on Thursday January 22nd at 8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to her service from 4:00-8:00PM.
