Margarette E. (Kirk) Bernard, 80 of Middleboro and a former Attleboro area resident died unexpectedly on Monday January 19, 2009 at home.
Born in Marion, Virginia on April 14, 1928 she was a loving daughter of the late Betty M. (Tester) Augliera and Sal Augliera and the late John Kirk.
She grew up in Virginia where she began her education till later moving to Brooklyn, New York where she furthered her studies.
Margarette was a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family and in addition to raising her children she had previously worked at the Mansfield Chocolate Company and at Morin’s Nursing home in Attleboro.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing with her friends at North Bowl Lanes in North Attleboro where she was a former member of the North Bowling League. Margarette loved to cook, bake and sew and will always be remembered fondly for her scrumptiously prepared meals. She received much pleasure when in the presence of her family and watching them raise there own families. A resident of Middleboro for over 10 years she had formerly made her home in Attleboro, Norton and Mansfield.
She is survived by her devoted children Cheryl-Lynn Malouin of Middleboro, Philias J. Bernard of North Attleboro, Kenneth J. Bernard of Delaware, Francis G. Bernard, Jr. of Maine, Nancey E. Bernard of Middleboro, Regina L. Rogers of Taunton, Dennis K. Bernard of Florida, Timothy M. Bernard of Plymouth, Thomas J. Bernard of North Carolina, Belinda R. Mahanna of Attleboro and Melissa E. Giroir of Attleboro. She was the sister of the late John Kirk and Joyce Ratliff and is also survived by her cherished 33 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday January 22nd at 7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be at a later date in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening prior to the funeral services beginning at 5 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
