Salvatore P. “Sal” Sacoco, 81 of Stoneham, died Saturday after a brief illness in Stoneham, MA.

Born in Boston, he lived in Stoneham for the past 5 years and was formerly of Medford and the West End of Boston. Salvatore was the son of the late Florence (Muscarella) and Charles Sacoco. Sal was the proprietor of SS Painting for over 40 years and retired in 1995. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 and was also a member of the Madonna della Cava Society of Boston and the Belmont VFW. Beloved husband of Josephine T. (Puleo) Sacoco. Devoted father of Lorene Zani and her husband Jack of Wakefield, Philip Sacoco and Christine of Malden. Loving grandfather of Lisa Ann Zani Garrett and her husband Michael, John A. Zani Jr., and Gina Sacoco. Loving great grandfather of Jessica McCarthy. Brother of Charles Sacoco of Dedham and the late Joseph Sacoco. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
