Obituary

Sister M. Myles (Mary Frances) McHugh, 98, a Sister of Mercy for 78 years, died Friday, January 16, 2009, after a long illness. A native of Dorchester, MA, she was the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Kiley) McHugh.
Sister Myles held a B.A. degree in social studies from Mt. St. Mary College in Hooksett, NH, and an M.Ed. degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA. She pursued further studies in guidance and psychology at Boston University, and in psychological testing at Cardinal Stritch College, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
A devoted educator, she taught at Sacred Heart School in Nashua, St. Mary School in Dover, St. Joseph Elementary School in Manchester, and St. Mary High School in Claremont.
During her 30 years at St. Joseph High School, Immaculata High School, and Trinity High School in Manchester, she served as teacher, guidance counselor, and administrator.
Family members include several cousins.
Friends may call at the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, NH, on Wednesday, January 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. A prayer service will be held in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, Sisters of Mercy in Windham at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 22.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
