Frank P. Monroe of Stoneham formerly of Somerville passed away on Friday, January 16, 2009, at his home. He was 81 years of age.
During World War II, Frank proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Navy.
Born in Cambridge, Frank was the son of the late Frank P. Monroe, Sr. and Nora (Furtado) Monroe. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and will be missed by all.
Frank was the beloved husband for 59 years of Catherine “Theresa” (McAllister) Monroe. He was the devoted father of Linda Monroe and her spouse Maria Arcieri of Beverly, David and his wife Roberta of Atkinson, NH, Frank Monroe and his wife Linda of Lowell. He was the Cherished grandfather of Sean and his wife Sarah of Bedford, NH and Erica Monroe of Nashua, NH. Frank was the dear brother of Joseph Monroe and his wife Ann of Andover and Anna Martin of Lawrence. He was the loving brother-in-law of Marie Browne of Somerville, Patricia Campabasso of Acton and Dorothy Fitzgerald of Stoneham. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the family at the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Parking attendants will be available. A Graveside Service will be held at Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham on Tuesday at 12:00.
