Carol A. McAuliffe, 57 years, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Wednesday afternoon at Brigham and Womans Hospital in Boston surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge on February 4, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Arlene M. (Corrigan) McAuliffe, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School, Notre Dame Academy and Castle Hill Jr. College.
Carol worked as a secretary for the Educator Biscuit Company for many years following college. For over 24 years she worked for Right-Stuff in Burlington as the office manager and retired in 2008 due to her illness. Carol was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Her all time favorite hobby was losing money at Mohegan Sun.
She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Arlene McDermott and Jack Lightfoot of Lowell, Thomas and Diane McAuliffe of Dunstable, Joan McAuliffe, Phyllis McAuliffe, Leo McAuliffe, Paul McAuliffe and Nancy McAuliffe all of Lowell; ten nieces and nephews, Eddie and Colleen McDermott, Jimmy, Courtney, Alexis, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Rebecca, Emily, Michael and Grace McAuliffe; a great niece and nephew, Eddie and Molly McDermott and many dear friends.
She was also the sister of the late Robert W. McAuliffe who died in 2001.
McAULIFFE- Friends may call from 1 until 5 PM on Sunday, Jan. 18th at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith St.,(Rte.38). Her Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday at 11 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Tewksbury.
