OBITUARY
A. Rita (Boumila) Conlon, 96 years old, widow of the late Leo Conlon who died in 1957, died Saturday at a Nursing Home on Cape Cod.
Born in Lowell, on April 15,1912, she was a daughter of the late Alexsandros and Felicija (Zilonskute) Boumila and was educated in the Lowell schools. Following her graduation from the Butler School in Lowell, she worked in the Boot Mills as a velvet cutter.
For many years Mrs. Conlon worked for the B.F. Goodrich Company in Watertown as a stitcher. Prior to her retirement she was an inspector for the Millipore Corporation in Bedford.
Mrs. Conlon was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Lithuanian Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality and the League of Catholic Woman. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the former Saint John’s Hospital and the D.L.K.V. Club of Lowell. She was also a volunteer worker at the Gift Shop at Saint John’s Hospital and a member of the Lowell Senior Center where she taught knitting to seniors following her retirement.
She is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Phyllis Conlon of Newton and Dennis, MA. and Maura Feeney and her husband Charles of Mashpee; 4 grandchildren; Sara Ogden and her husband Charles of Londonderry, N.H., Chad Feeney and his wife Shannon of Lowell, Miriam (Marybeth) Walsh and her husband Patrick of Charlestown and Kathryn Rita Small and her husband Jeremiah of Westford; 5 great grandchildren, Ryan, Jack and Sam Ogden, and Jeremiah and Charlie Small; a sister, Ann Carney of Billerica, formerely of Lowell, nieces and nephews and many loving caretakers during her final years in Cape Cod.
CONLON- Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning January, 14 from 9:30 until 10:30 am at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST.(Rte 38). Her Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
