WORCESTER____John B. "Spitz" Spirauskas, Jr., 48, of 32 Crestlan Circle, died Thursday May 15 in the Veterans Hospice Homestead, 69 High St., Fitchburg.

He leaves a sister, Cynthia A. Boudreau of Worcester; two nephews and two nieces. A sister, Paula A. LaBouef of Worcester died in 1999. He was born in Worcester, son of John B. and Alberta (Kavalauskas) Spirauskas and lived here all of his life.

Mr. Spirauskas was a plumber and worked several years for Riley Plumbing and Heating Co.He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS King and later the USS Fanning. He received the Sea Deployment Ribbon with two bronze stars.Mr. Spirauskas was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed baseball. He attended North High School.

The funeral will be held on Saturday May 17 from Dirsa - Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St.,with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Casimirs Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Friday May 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Casimirs Church Building Fund, 41 Providence St., Worcester, 01604.
