Obituary

Giuseppe Stagnitto, 80 of Medford died peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Sunday. He was the husband of Velia (Federico) Stagnitto with whom he shared more than 57 years of marriage. Mr. Stagnitto was born in Boston, the son of the late Calogero and Catherina (SanFilippo) Stagnitto. He served in the Army during the Korean War. In earlier years he worked as a mason. His talents working with brick and cement were well known and respected. He was a member of the Boston Plasterer & Masons Union #534.
A family man, he enjoyed family time and his grandchildren. He enjoyed working in his garden and was known for his tomatoes. He was always helping others with construction projects particularly in the field of masonry. He was know as a “jack of all trades” who could fix anything. He enjoyed family card games and occasional trips to Foxwoods. In addition to his wife, he is the devoted father of Catherina Moynihan and her husband James of Malden, Concetta Pustorino and her husband Frank of Reading and Joseph Stagnitto Jr. of MD. Dear grandfather of Frank, Nicole & Joseph Pustorino. Brother of the late Angelo and Josephine Stagnitto. Funeral from Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden. U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
