Mrs. Jennie (Rizzo) Lavenia of Medford, formerly of Revere, died at her home in Medford on Saturday, January 10, 2009. She was 94 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 22, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late Vincent and Carmella (Cagiano) Rizzo. Mrs. Lavenia had spent many years working as a waitress at the Sheridan Plaza. She loved to play Bingo and cards with her family and friends. Jennie was a very loving and giving person who never forgot about anyone in her life, especially her children, grand children and great-grandchildren. She was a true matriarch.
She will be very sorely missed by her beloved children; Carmella Jellow of Medford, Josephine and her husband Richard, Richard Campbell of Davie, Florida and George Carbone of Medford, brothers; Albert Rizzo of Revere and Anthony Rizzo of Las Vegas, four grandchildren; Dawn, Michelle, Richard, Jr. and Debbie. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren. Jennie was also the sister of the late Marciano, Benjamin, Guy and Tony Rizzo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Hoy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
