HAMPTON, JOHN L. "PAPA" JR., 59, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009.
He was a former employee of Jefferson County Works Department.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Hampton; and mother, Doris Hampton.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Vicki Smith Hampton; children, John III, Amanda, and Kelli Hampton (Jeremy Hunt); grandchildren, Hayley and D. J. Hampton; his father, John L. Hampton Sr; brothers, Daniel, Michael, Chris and Jeff Hampton; sisters, Peggy Nichols, Beverly Votaw (Mike); and niece, Michelle Hampton.
Funeral will be noon Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, with burial in Bethany Cemetery.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday.
