
Jeannette Daneau
Beloved matriarch and respected resident of Manchester, Jeannette Daneau peacefully entered eternal rest on January 7, 2009. She died surrounded in the care of her trusted son, Maurice, the loving hands and arms of her two daughters Jeannette Couture and Rita Martin, supported by her son in law John Couture, and her best friend and sister Pauline Thibault.
Born in Manchester on December 16, 1915 to Ubald and Yvonne (Vincent) Beliveau, into a family of seven sisters, Lillian, Irene, Helena, Lucille, Theresa, Pauline, Solange. In 1935 she married Arsene Daneau ( deceased 1958) and they had 11 children, 5 are deceased. She is survived by other family members, two sons Roger and Raymond Daneau, two daughters Irene (Daneau) Lepage deceased, Therese (Daneau) Montminy of Alta Loma CA., another sister Theresa (Beliveau) Morin, two sons in law Thomas Martin of Manchester, Roger Montminy, one daughter in law Lilliane (Gilbert) Daneau. As a devoted mother she leaves behind a family reaching the fifth generation: 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Baptized and educated at Sacred Heart Church, she often volunteered in many activities especially those sponsored by the ladies of Ste. Anne Sodality. She enjoyed serving as sacristan for many years expressing her dedication and unshakable faith. For the last twenty years she lovingly contributed over 250 handmade baby quilts benefiting the “Our Place Outreach Program”.
Her sense of adventure at 90 years of age allowed her to begin spending her winters in Zephyr Hills FL., where she died.
With dignity, Jeannette enjoyed a full life and sharp wit. We will long remember her love of sewing, playing scrabble, watching the wheel of fortune, and reading the daily newspaper. Her selfless generosity will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she has touched.
Services: Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 8 pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12 pm in Sacred Heart Church, S. Main St.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
