Obituary

John F. “Jack Haley 76 died Thursday January 8th. He was the beloved husband of Maureen B. (King) Haley.

Born in Newburyport he was the son of the late James and Gertrude (Toner) Haley.

He was raised both in Newburyport and Weymouth and was a graduate of Weymouth High Class of 1949.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force having served during the Korean War from 1950-1953.

He later attended Bentley College earning his Bachelors Degree and was a member of the graduating Class of 1957.

He had previously worked s a comptroller for the Patriot Ledger and later as a Senior Staff Accountant for the MBTA before his retirement.

He had been a resident of Whitman since 1966.

He enjoyed golf and traveling as well as time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons Timothy Haley of Oxford, MS and Brendan Haley and his wife Patricia of Bridgewater, his sister Marie Rosebach and her husband Thomas of Hanover, his brother-in-law Joseph King and his wife Peggy, his sister-in–laws Annie Merrigan and her husband Joseph and Therese King all of County Galway, Ireland. He is also survived by his grandchildren Annie, Jack and Jenna as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James and Jeremiah Haley, Gertrude Roseback, and Helen Gorski.

His services will be held Friday January 16th at 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday January 15th from 4-9 PM.
