Obituary

SALEM - Charles A. Lipsett, 80, of Salem, husband of the late Millicent A. (Andrews) Lipsett, died Wednesday evening , January 7, 2009 in the Salem Hospital after being stricken at his home.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Charles and Ethel (Hiltz) Lipsett, and was a lifelong resident of the city. He was a member of the St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church, Marblehead.

An Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, he attained the rank of Sergeant First Class.

Prior to his retirement in the late 1990's, Mr. Lipsett was employed for many years as a machinist for Boston Machine Works in Lynn

He is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Lipsett, MD, of Owings Mills, MD, Gail and her husband, Keith Leuchars of Lynn, two sons, Charles J. Lipsett, US Army, of Parkville, MD and stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, Robert K. Lipsett of Laguna Niguel, CA, three grandchildren, Adam Costanzo, Anne Costanzo, Joel Costanzo, one brother, Chester Lipsett of Salem, and with whom he resided, one sister, Sarah Rocheleau of Salem and one nephew, Charles Rocheleau of Salem. He was the brother of the late Robert Lipsett and Ralph Lipsett.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Visiting Hours are Friday, 4 to 7 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
