Kenneth Wilber Porter, of Plymouth, formerly of Cape Cod, passed away on December 28th at the age of 92. He is the Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Jewett) Porter and Father of Leighton Porter of Chelmsford and Jonathan Porter of Plymouth. He is also survived by one of five sisters, Natalie Porter of Windsor, CT. He leaves 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Born in Haverhill, MA to the late Herbert W. and Ethel (Leighton) Porter, he graduated from Bourne High School in 1935 and was Captain of the football team. He worked for his father as an electrician’s helper; owned and operated Ken’s Service Station in Monument Beach from 1936-1939; was an Asst. Mgr. and Cook for Leighton’s Restaurant, a family restaurant, in Springfield, MA; worked as a Progress Estimator, Asst. Mgr of PX and Accts. Payable for the construction of Camp Edwards Air Force Base from 1940-1942; worked for Pratt-Whitney Co. in Hartford, CT from 1942-1958; and handled Payroll, Accts. Payable, and Cost Acct. for Barnstable County Supply from 1958 – 1980, when he retired to Florida. All services will be private. Arrangements will be made by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet.
