Obituary

Frederick John Hobbs II, of Mystic, died January 7, 2009, and is survived by his wife Jamie Hobbs, daughter Laura Ann Hobbs, her fiancé, Ryan Parker, his mother, Jeanette Holley and stepdad Breland W. Holley, Sr., of Mystic. His father Frederick John Hobbs and sister Susan Linda Hobbs predeceased him.

Fred was born in Manchester, CT on September 9, 1959, and graduated from Waterford High School. He was a licensed plumber and worked for the JLL Company at Pfizer, Groton, CT.

Aside from his love for his family, his second love was saltwater fishing and being out on his boat. Fred will always be remembered for being an outstanding husband, father and son as well as being a hard worker. He enjoyed his work at Pfizer.

Fred will be remembered with much love by family members Emma and David Ellis and their children David Ellis, Jr., Lisa Ellis of Fairfield, and Linda Ellis of Stamford; Jo Drogaris and her children Karen Schmaling of Greenwich, Cathy Ubillus of Ridgefield, CT, and Peter Drogaris of Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Anna and Fred Hayoz and their sons Rick and John of Reston, VA; Jim and Heike Holley of Mystic, Bre and Barbara Holley of Wayland, MA; Paula Ibrahim of New London, Violet Ibrahim of Groton, Paula Ibrahim of Niantic, Armand Ibrahim of New London, Matthew Ibrahim of Norwich and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Fred's life will be held at First United Methodist Church, Willow St., Mystic on Thursday at 2pm. There are no visiting hours.
