Richard A. “Dick” Connors Sr. 67 died Monday January 5th in his home after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Myra J. “Susie” (Aronson) Connors.
Born in Somerville he was the son of the late James and Thelma (Johnston) Connors. He was raised in Holbrook and a graduate of Holbrook High Class of 1959.
He had been a resident of Whitman since 1969.
He had been employed for the Fernandes Supermarket chain for thirty years before his move to Shaws Supermarket where he worked for 15 years and retired as an Assistant Produce Manager.
He was a member of the Upland Sportsmen’s Club of Plimpton, and enjoyed hunting and sports.
He had a love for music and dancing but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family.
In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children Sherry Davis and her husband Kenny of Randolph, Linda Donovan and her husband Danny of Whitman, Susanne Connors-Miller and her husband Chris of Halifax, and Richard A. Connors Jr. and his wife Denise of Halifax, his grandchildren Matthew, Julia and Ryan Donovan and Rachel and Michael Connors, his siblings James Connors of Pembroke, Robert Connors of Plymouth, and Gail Swanson of Saugus, and his mother-in-law Lily Aronson of Braintree. He was the brother of the late Thomas Connors, Roland Marx and June Golden.
His services will be held Saturday January 10th at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday January 9th from 4-8 PM.
