Margaret M. "Peg" (Keating) McLaughlin, age 81, died Monday January 5, 2008 in Woburn after a brief illness. Born in Woburn, Peg has been a lifelong resident. She was the loving daughter of the late Margaret A. (Connolly) & William B. Keating.
Peg was raised in the house she was born in, on Richardson Ave. She attended St Charles School and graduated first in her senior class, 1944. After high school she went to work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield at the Charlestown Navy Yard as a Clerical worker. Peg was also a great swimmer and was a lifeguard at the Green St. Pool and Horn Pond. She was a quiet person with many friends and she enjoyed painting, reading and all kinds of puzzles. Peg was married June 13, 1953 and was married to her beloved husband Richard for over 55 years.
In addition to her loving husband Richard, Peg is survived by her devoted children Richard A. McLaughlin and his wife Paula of Woburn, David J. and his wife Janet of Florida, Ann Martin and her husband Donald of Woburn, Elaine Berlandi and her husband John of Townsend, Peggy Mahar and her husband Bob, Pauline Zammuto and her husband Daniel all of Billerica, the late Christopher W. McLaughlin and John McLaughlin. Also survived by 23 loving grandchildren and 1 loving great grandchid. Sister of the late Barbara Keating Morrow, William Keating Jr., and John Keating.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
