J C Brown, 84, Clarksville, died Monday, January 5, 2009, at Spring Meadows Health Care Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Dr. Larry Robertson and Bro. Michael Mackens officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and from noon until the hour of service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 24, 1924 in Kanawha, Texas, the son of Jacob Brown and Alpha Sturdivant Brown. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Jean Brown, his parents, two sisters and two brothers. He was a member of the Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, KY and drove a Montgomery County school bus. He was a disabled veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ola Lisembee Brown, Clarksville; five daughters and their husbands, Sandra and Don Mackens, Hattiesburg, MS, Pat and Robert Holt, Beverly and Jack Blackard, Cindy and Bill Fields, all of Clarksville and Linda and Lee Alder of Hermitage, TN; one sister , Verna Bolton of Rockwall, TX and one brother, Billy Brown of Bonham, TX; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bryan Alder, Cheyenne Smith, Todd Goebel, Jacob Nangle, Dustin Nangle and Brad Fields.
