Obituary

Bernard L. “Bubba” Ballou, 84, of Beechwood Street, Coventry, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Hospice Inpatient Center. He was the husband of the late Hope C. (McWilliams) Ballou.

Born in Pascoag, he was a son of the late Albert S. and Emma (Tetreault) Ballou. He had lived in Coventry for the past ten years and had previously lived in Greenville. He was a member of the FOP, the 100 Club and was involved with the Galilee Tuna Tournament. He had served in the Marine Corps.

Mr. Ballou retired from Allstate Insurance after 15 years and had previously retired as a Lieutenant after 20 years on the Rhode Island State Police.

He is survived by his daughter Susan A. Ballou of Cranston, his son Skip Ballou of Raleigh, NC, three grandchildren and his longtime companion Ethelmae Ammon of Coventry.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 17th, at 10am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hospice Inpatient Center, 50 Maude Street, Providence, RI 02908.
