Obituary

Pasquale ”PJ” Geraneo, 81 died suddenly Monday evening, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Born in Gaeta, Italy he came to America at the age of 12, making his home in Somerville, where he was raised, educated and considered himself a lifelong resident, he enlisted in the Marine Corps while still a student at Somerville High School, and was later wounded in the battle for Guadacanal. After his discharge he worked at the Parker House Hotel in Boston and became the dining room Head maitre´d. He then worked for the Levin Co as a building Superintendent at 99 Chauncy St. Boston, until his death on Monday. Last year “PJ” was awarded his High School Diploma when the City of Somerville recognized all of the World War II Veterans from Somerville. He was a member of the Logan Post of Somerville, the DAV, the Trubador Club of Somerville and very proud to be American.

Funeral mass will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford/Somerville with the Rev. Dennis A. Dever officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Friends may visit Friday from 4 thru 9. At the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
