Obituary

Lauretta A. (Guy) Marmen, 79, of Pittsfield, NH passed away Monday, January 5, 2009 at home. She was wife of the late Lionel N. Marmen.

Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Rene and Bella (Caissie) Guy, she lived in Dartmouth for most of her life prior to moving to Framingham, MA and Pittsfield, NH. Until her retirement, she was a C.N.A. at Sacred Heart Nursing Home in New Bedford, where she received an award for her caring and dedicated service to the residents. Mrs. Marmen was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She enjoyed reading, puzzle making, music, but most of all she loved laughing and spending time with her family.

Survivors include a son: Lionel J. Marmen and his wife Estelle Banks of Dartmouth; 3 daughters: Rachel R. Wood and her husband Clayton of Pittsfield, NH, Doris Y. Lucas and her husband Clayton of Lakeville and Jacqueline F. Marmen and her husband William Harkins of Westport; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was sister of the late Rita LeBlanc.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, January 9, 2009 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Thursday 5 - 8 P.M.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
