Theresa M. (Scanlon) Laferriere, age 78 of Lowell, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 at Willow Manor in Lowell after a brief illness.
She was born in Lowell on April 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Alice (Loranger) Scanlon. Theresa formerly resided in Dracut and also the Centralville section of Lowell for over 22 years. She was a communicant of St. Michael Parish.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Irene and Robert Hinkle of Pelham, NH; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Melissa Laferriere of New Mexico, Gerard and Mary Ann Laferriere of Chapel Hill, NC, Lowell Police Officer and Atty. Paul Laferriere and his wife Cheryl of Dracut; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mildred Falardeau of Lowell and Agnes and Joseph Carbonneau of Dracut; eight grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Hinkle, Timothy and Christopher Laferriere, Nicole and Jonathan Laferriere and Michael and Adam Laferriere. Four great grandchildren, Connor, Brendan, Yasmina, and Damian. Also several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was a sister of the late Margaret Harmond.
At her request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral Services will be held privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
