Obituary

Joseph F. Rose, 74, of Westport passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Care Center after a long illness. He was husband of the late Patricia A. (Mailloux) Rose.

Born in Westport, son of the late Joseph Rose and the late Eliza (Perry) Raposa, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A Korean War veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Rose was a truck driver and had also worked for Globe Manufacturing until his retirement.

Survivors include 5 sons: Kenneth B. “Chilly” Rose of Westport, Robert W. Rose of Mattapoisett, Richard A. Rose of Dartmouth, Jay P. Rose of New Bedford and Michael P. Rose of Rehoboth; a daughter: Cheryl A. Bourgeois of Westport; 2 sisters: Lydia Santos of Westport and Sandra Beaulac of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was brother of the late Manuel H. Rose, Sheila J. Rose and Charles E. Rose.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Wednesday 5 - 8 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
