Frank Peter Geromini Jr., 78, of Franklin, died peacefully January 4th, surrounded by family, after a short and courageous battle with leukemia. Frank is survived by his best friend and dear wife of 53 years, Leone (O’Neil). He is also survived by his daughter Lisa Walsh and her spouse Rebecca Smith of Brewster, son Frank Peter Geromini III and his wife Nicole of Bellingham, daughter Kathleen Karpe and her husband Blake of Hopkinton, daughter Maureen Atkins and her husband Kenneth of North Attleboro, son Joseph of Linwood, New Jersey, and daughter Laura Juszczyszyn and her husband Kyle of Franklin.
He also leaves 15 cherished grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Frank was the brother of Carlo Geromini, Theresa DeAngelis, Mary Boiteau and Balda Nasuti of Franklin, Caroline Bucci of Milford and the late Dino Geromini and Inez Gulino.
Frank was born in Franklin, son of the late Francesco and Svezia (Tabarani) Geromini and attended the town’s public schools. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan for 2 years. A Past Grand Knight and Lifetime Member of the Sacred Heart Council 1847 of the Knights of Columbus, Frank was elected on the state level as District Deputy of the K.of C. Frank was a devoted member and usher at St. Mary’s Church and could be found dining at the Rome Restaurant with his family on Saturday nights after 4 o’clock Mass.
Frank was a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Union for 35 years and was the owner of Frank Geromini & Sons, Mason Contracting, until his retirement in 1992. He was adored for his incomparable work ethic, his integrity and his commitment to family.
He was an exceptional golfer and loved the game. Frank will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Frank will be waked at the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin, on Tuesday, January 6th from 4 – 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 7 from the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, Church Square in Franklin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery.
