Obituary

Thomas Livsey, 87, of Mattapoisett died January 3, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Gladys M. (Lomas) Livsey with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Carl and Emily (Clarke) Livsey, he was raised in New Bedford before moving to Mattapoisett in 1954.
Mr. Livsey was a member of the Mattapoisett Congregational Church.
He served his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker at the Newport Torpedo Station before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. After the service he continued in the sheet metal industry becoming a registered professional engineer with Milhench, Inc. retiring as vice president.
Mr. Livsey enjoyed sailing.
Survivors include a son, James D. Livsey and his wife Barbara of Rochester; a daughter, Susan L. Livsey of Nashua, NH; a grandson, Jeffrey T. Livsey, Jr. of Mattapoisett and his mother Beth Livsey of Marion.
He was the father of the late Jeffrey T. Livsey, Sr. and the brother of the late Raymond Livsey, Carl Livsey, Alton Livsey, Sarah Anderton and Doris Anderton.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6) Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in Cushing Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, January 6th from 4-7 PM.
