Josephine M. McCarthy

Josephine M. (LaBonte) McCarthy, age 92, died Friday evening, January 2,
at the D'youville Nursing Center in Lowell, after a long period of declining
health. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. McCarthy, who died on
January 15, 2003.
Mrs. McCarthy was born in Lowell, on January 1, 1917, a daughter of the
late Joseph and Josephine (Bourassa) LaBonte. She lived in Tewksbury
the greater part of her life, and graduated from Lowell High School. She
moved to Nashua N.H. in 1985, and lived between Tarpon Springs, Florida,
and Nashua in her retirement. She returned to Massachusetts in 2006.
She graduated from the Tewksbury Hospital School of Nursing, and was
employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Tewksbury Hospital, and was a
member of A.F.S.C.M.E.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ronald Thistle of
Tyngsboro; a son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Pamela (Thistle)
McCarthy of Dunstable; seven grandchildren, Matthew Perreault of
Charlestown, Michelle Perreault of Cambridge, Lauren Perreault of Moscow,
Idaho, Kama Davis of Chelmsford, Joseph McCarthy of Providence, RI, Jay
McCarthy of Provo, Utah, and Kennedy McCarthy of Dunstable; four great
grandchildren, Jacob, Olivia, and Emma Davis and Jack McCarthy; a sister
and brother-in-law, Dorothy and William Raney of Nashua, NH; a sister-in-
law, Erma (Hallett) LaBonte of Athol, MA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also mother-in-law of the late John Perreault.
Her Funeral Mass was held Tuesday
Jan. 6, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was
in St. Joseph's Cemetery, East Chelmsford.
