New Bedford – Herman G. “George” Marsden, 96, of New Bedford died December 31, 2008 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. He was husband of the late Italia (Aulisio) Marsden.
Mr. Marsden was born in New Bedford, son of the late Robert and Martha A. (Pickering) Marsden, and resided in the city most of his life. He was employed as a supervisor by various textile mills in New Bedford and Fall River until his retirement in 1974. He later became the owner/operator of the former Roger’s Ice Cream in Fairhaven. He enjoyed playing the organ, singing, swimming, boat building and sailing.
Survivors include a brother: Floyd P. Marsden of Savannah, GA; a sister-in-law: Louise Aulisio of New Bedford; and several nieces & nephews.
He was brother of the late Rose Lawton.
