Pietro “Peter” Mazzagatti, of Medford, died Tuesday at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Cambridge. He was 65.
Peter was born and raised in Italy, the son of the late Antonino and the late Rosaria (Insana) Mazzagatti. After his university education in Italy, he came to the United States in 1961. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War as a medical technician at Walter Reed Medical Center. After his service he worked with the Augusta Research Co. in Cambridge as a supervisor. Peter was an avid golfer and loved to go dancing with his girlfriend.
He was the beloved brother of Joseph Mazzagatti of Medford and Caterina Sano’ of Italy. He was the dear uncle of Frankie D’Agnello and his wife Maria of Stoneham. He was the devoted friend of Jackie White and her family and also leaves many dear cousins and friends.
Family and friends may visit Friday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Procession will gather Saturday at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clement Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
