John M. Campbell, 101, past away on December 29th, 2008 at the Lifecare Nursing Home in Stoneham. He was born in Nova Scotia, Canada on November 26th, 1907 to his parents Martin and Catherine (MacKenzie) Campbell. John immigrated to the United States with his family at the age of five, settling in Dorchester. He lived in Dorchester and neighboring communities until moving to Medford in 1947. For over 40 years, he worked as a Supervisor for Boston Edison. John is survived by his children, Joan Guarente and her husband Robert of Harwich and John M. Campbell Jr. and his wife Carol of Medford and by his son-in-law Ralph Gentile of Dublin, NH. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife, Pauline (Clasby) Campbell; by his daughter, Jean Gentile; and by his siblings, William Campbell, Mary Casey, Agnes Stiegler and Josephine Kelliher. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday January 3rd at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday January 2nd from 4-8 PM.
