Moyna, Gloria age 83 an Oradell resident for 45 years passed away peacefully following a brief illness on Monday, December 29, 2008, in Hackettstown, NJ surrounded by her devoted family. Gloria was born on April 22, 1925 to Antonia and Francesco Algarotti of North Bergen, NJ, the youngest of 10 children. Gloria graduated from North Bergen High School, attended nursing school in Manhattan, and in 1946 married Robert Moyna, a WWII Army Air Corp pilot who served in New Guinea and the South Pacific. Mrs. Moyna and her sister, Florence, were accomplished equestrians, and shared a love of thoroughbred horse racing. Gloria served on the Oradell Town Council for approximately 15 years, was acting Borough Council President, President of the Book and Needle Club, the Oradell Republican Club, the American Legion, and the County Committee. Gloria was blessed with many friendships, had a love of opera, politics, crossword puzzles, bridge, and was a patriot who admired George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Ronald Reagan and could be counted on to bring the US Constitution with her everywhere. Surviving are her devoted and loving husband of 62 years Robert; three children: Glory Aiken of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Melanie of New Canaan, CT, and Mark of Blairstown, NJ; eight grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Diana, Caroline, David, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Mark, and 16 nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday 10AM at St. Joseph’s RC Church, Oradell. All to meet at church. Interment to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit Friday 2-4 & 6-8PM. at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell.
