William F. Doherty, 69, of James Street Extension, Derry, NH died Friday May 9, 2003 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry following a lengthy illness. He was born in Cambridge, MA on July 19, 1933, a son of the late John C. and Margaret (Murray) Doherty. He was a resident of Derry since 1989, formerly living in Arlington, MA. He was a US Air Force veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Post #39, Arlington, MA where he served as Past Commander and Past Middlesex County Commander.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. (White) Doherty, Derry, one daughter, Joan O’Clair, Shirley, MA, three sons, John A. Doherty, Texas, Michael E. Doherty, Manchester, NH, David M. Doherty, Derry, four grandchildren, Jessica O’Clair, Michael O’Clair, Danny O’Clair, all of Shirley, MA, Alexia Doherty, Derry, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday May 13th at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, NH. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Monday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9PM.
