Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street(Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Obituary
Mr. Dermody died Thursday morning at his home following a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Born in Brockton, son of Bernice E. (Erickson) and the late John J. Dermody. He remained a life long resident of Brockton. Attended Xaverian Brockton High School and graduated from the Condon School in South Boston. He had worked with his father at Crawford Press in Brockton and Winthrop Printing in Boston. He enjoyed playing basketball with the High School Varsity, CYO and City leagues. He also ran track in his younger years. He had been a resident at the Greenery in Middleboro for the past 4 years and had been President of the Patients Council for the past year.
He is survived by his mother Bernice E. (Erickson) Dermody of Brockton, 2 sisters Susan Dermody of Brockton and Mary McCormick and her husband Brian of Avon, a niece and nephew and several aunts and uncles.
Son of the late John J. Dermody and grandson of the late John Erickson and Margaret Dermody.
