Violet Helma Schobel, age 87, of Round Top, Texas passed away on December 28, 2008 at the Columbus Community Hospital. She was born on September 15, 1921 to parents, Herbert Klump and Lillie (Roske) Klump of Shelby. She married Louis Schobel on September 12, 1940 in Columbus.
Violet Helma Schobel is survived by two sons, Leon Schobel and his wife Karen of Industry and Franklin Schobel and his wife Patsy of Round Top; one sister, Frances Stancik of Ganado; one sister-in-law, Edith Klump of Round Top; one granddaughter, Stephanie Schobel of Industry; three grandsons, Mike Schobel of Industry, Eric Schobel and his wife Aimee of Round Top and Carl Schobel and his wife Kim of Round Top and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Klump and Lillie (Roske) Klump, her husband Louis Schobel, four brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2008 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Reverend Sid Roden will officiate at the service. Interment will be in the Nassau Cemetery near Shelby.
