In Taunton, suddenly, age 85 December 26, 2008 William H. Ohler husband of the late Ruth B. (Westgate) Ohler. Born and educated in Penn, William was the son of the late William and Catherine (Pottersfield) Ohler. William was a sergeant in the US Army where he was stationed in Myles Standish and then moved to taunton where he lived for the last 63 years. He was a retired Home Builder and Carpenter in the city of taunton where he helped many people in need for repairs to their homes at no charge. William loved fishing and gardening and his family. He was the father of Larry Allen of Dighton, Joseph Ohler of Taunton, William Ohler of Taunton, Amanda Souza of Taunton and Robert Ohler of Taunton. Grandfather of fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Brother of Robert Ohler of Penn, Oscar Ohler of W. Virginia, Shirley Schrock of Penn, Viola Kimbel of Penn and the late Simon Ohler and Effie Martz. Uncle of several Nieces and Nephews. Service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday December 29th at 11 am. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 5-8 pm. Interment Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton. In lieu of flowers donations in William’s memory may be made to New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, Ma, 02108.
