Roger L. Botelho, Jr., 45, of New Bedford died December 24, 2008 unexpectedly at Brockton Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Roger L. and Patricia A. (Schlosser) Botelho, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was employed by Designed Temperatures in Fairhaven.
Roger served in the U.S. Navy from 1986 to 1988 and was the recipient of the Navy Expeditionary Medal, Combat Action Award, Navy Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
He enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. Roger was a member of Wampanoag Tribe of Aquinnah Gay Head.
Survivors include his parents; his girlfriend, Kathy Blasetti of Brockton; his former wife, Deborah Botelho of New Bedford; a daughter, Courtney P. Botelho of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Scott L. Botelho and his wife Rebecca of New Bedford and Kelly S. Botelho and his wife Kathleen of Fairhaven; his maternal grandmother, Lois Schlosser of New Bedford; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31st at 9 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday, December 30th from 4-8 PM.
