Muriel M. (Havey) Murphy, of Medford, died Thursday at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester, after a long illness. She was 90.
Muriel was born in Boston and raised in Everett, the daughter of the late John and the late Edith V. (English) Havey. A Medford resident since 1946, Muriel was a long-time member of the Catholic Daughters. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed time with her family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Valentine P. Murphy, she was a devoted mother to Karen Puopolo and her late husband Anthony of Medford, Patricia Hughes and her husband Walter of Dedham, Maureen Richard and her husband Ronald of Medford, Colleen Albano and her husband Joseph of Medford. She is lovingly survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late William J., Warren and John Havey.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
