Mrs. Lena F. Cataldo, 80 of Medford, died Wednesday in the Woodbriar Of Wilmington nursing facility following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Louis J. Cataldo. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Sartori. She was raised in Somerville and attended local schools. A Medford resident for nearly 60 years, she worked as a co-owner with her husband in the former Williams Candy Company on Main Street. The company had been family owned and operated for over 90 years.
In earlier years she enjoyed vacationing in Maine. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and was an avid reader. Most of all, she valued time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons: Stephen Cataldo and his wife Karen of Billerica, Ronald Cataldo and his wife Patricia of Lynnfield. Loving grandmother of Sarah, Allison, Nicole, Matthew, Derek, Brad and Craig Cataldo. Dear sister of Teresa Schnetzer of Somerville, Angela D'Agnelli of Belmont, Maria Derosa of Burlington and her late twin sister Tina Bellizia. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
