Obituary

Mr. Peter Stylos, 82, passed away Friday December 26th at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 16, 1926 in Lowell, Massachusetts a son of the late Louis and Amelia (Sarantopoulos) Stylos.

A lifelong resident of Lowell, Peter received his education through the Lowell Schools. He went on to serve his country during World War II in the Army.

Upon his return, he went to work for Boston and Maine Railroad for over forty-five years as a brakeman and a conductor, up until his retirement.

He was a member of St Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Andover. Peter was also a founding member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Dracut formerly of Lowell and a two time former president of the Assumption Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Mrs. Panagiota “Pota” (Lagathianos) Stylos of Lowell; a son, Dr. Louis Stylos and his wife Lisa of Lowell; a daughter, Mrs Marlene Theodorou and her husband George of Andover; a sister, Georgia Themelis of Dracut; three grandchildren, Peter Stylos, Peter Theodorou, and Christos Theodorou.

He was the brother to the late Charles Stylos, Harry Stylos, and Socrates Stelos, and brother in law to the late Stephen Themelis.


Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Sunday from 4 to 8pm. His funeral will take place on Monday at 11am from the Funeral Home to be followed by services at St Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Andover at noontime. Interment to follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to St Constantine and Helen Church, 73 Chandler Rd. Andover, Ma. 01810.
