DRACUT - Evelyn M. Moniz (Enos), age 75, passed away peacefully Tuesday December 23, 2008, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joachim (Jack) Enos.
She was born in Cambridge on May 20, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Theresa (Costa) Moniz from the Azores. Evelyn was a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dracut, MA.
Before her retirement, Evelyn was employed by Andover Medical for many years. For the past ten years, Evelyn fulfilled her life long passion of working with children as a CTI foster grandparent at the Greenmont Avenue School.
Most of all, Evelyn loved being with her family and her life was centered around her children and grandchildren. Evelyn loved vacationing with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, her daughter Lynn, three sons and three daughters-in-law, Stephen and Marylee, and Daniel and Shawn, all of Dracut, and Jack and Sharon of Londonderry, NH. Seven grandchildren, Lauren and Kristen Enos, Adam Bispham, and Daniel Enos, all of Dracut, and Andrew, Craig, and Jenna Enos of Londonderry. Evelyn was one of fifteen children, and is survived by two sisters, Maria T. Pacheco of Melrose, and Laura Menezes of Windham, ME, and one brother Manuel Moniz of Everett, MA, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Sunday from 4 until 8 PM. Her Funeral will be held from the funeral home on Monday at 7:45 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 9 AM at St. Francis Church in Dracut. Spring burial in Oakland Cemetery in Dracut.
