Obituary

Phillip J. Christofi, a long-time Medford accountant, died Wednesday in Falmouth. He was 81.

Born and raised in Medford, Phil was the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Giaimo) Christofi. He served with the Navy during World War II and then graduated from Bentley College. He practiced as a Certified Public Accountant for over 50 years. A Stoneham resident for many years, Phil was a member of the Bear Hill Country Club, where he enjoyed the game of Golf with his friends and family. Phil was dedicated to his work and still kept the books for a few firms, even into his retirement. A resident of Cataumet for many years, he was a steadfast Red Sox fan who most of all enjoyed his family.


The beloved husband of Carol (Norris) Christofi, he was a devoted father to Phillip J. Christofi, Jr. of Gloucester, Dennis Christofi of Brookline, Mark Christofi of Reading, and Mark Abbruzzese of Michigan. He was a loving grandfather to Melissa, Priscilla, Alicia, Marielle, Colin, Brendan and a loving great-grandfather to Shannon, Kelly, Sean, Jared, Avery and Henry. He was the brother of Michael Christofi, the late Joseph Christofi and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great friends.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit Sunday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
